Power hydraulics

Service and repair of high-pressure hydraulic systems.

About

We design, install and service power hydraulic systems for vessels, from anchor windlasses and deck cranes to loading ramp control and special-purpose systems.

Marine power hydraulics operate under demanding conditions. The presence of salt, moisture, vibration and constant load results in faster component wear than in land-based applications.

We service anchor windlasses, deck cranes, loading ramps and rudder steering systems. Our scope also covers refurbishment of hydraulic cylinders and pumps, which helps limit cost compared with replacement with new units.

The work scope is defined on the basis of an actual technical diagnosis. If pump repair or seal replacement is sufficient, we do not propose broader overhaul. The client receives a reliable assessment of the system condition together with recommended follow-up actions.

What we deliver

  • Repair of anchor windlasses and capstans
  • Service of deck cranes and loading ramps
  • Diagnostics and refurbishment of cylinders
  • Pressure and performance measurements
How we work

Project workflow

01

Measurement

We connect pressure gauges and a performance analyser to the circuit. The measurements allow identification of pressure drops and components operating outside the nominal range.

02

Disassembly

We disassemble only the components requiring service intervention. Each component is marked to ensure correct reassembly.

03

Refurbishment or replacement

We refurbish cylinders with new seals and rings. Pumps and hydraulic motors beyond the scope of repair are replaced with client-approved models.

04

Commissioning

We bleed the system, set working pressures and conduct load testing. Settings and performance characteristics are documented.

Typical scope

When clients engage us

Every project starts with a proper assessment of the actual need. Below we list the most common scenarios in which owners approach us with enquiries.

  • 01

Oil leak on an anchor windlass detected before entering port

  • 02

Pre-season inspection of a deck crane before offshore service

  • 03

Refurbishment of a Ro-Ro ramp control cylinder

  • 04

Full overhaul of rudder hydraulics during dry-docking

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  • Which hydraulic equipment on a vessel do you service?

We cover the full range of marine power hydraulics – anchor windlasses, capstans, deck cranes, loading ramps, bow/stern thrusters, stabilisers, steering systems.

  • Do you refurbish hydraulic cylinders?

Yes – we refurbish cylinders of various types, replace seals, hone bores, refurbish piston rods and conduct pressure tests on specialised test rigs.

  • Do you diagnose hydraulic systems under working pressure?

Yes – we measure pressure, pump flow rates, oil temperature, oil cleanliness and analyse system characteristics. We have specialised high-pressure measurement equipment.

  • Do you cooperate with hydraulic component manufacturers?

Yes – we maintain relationships with leading component manufacturers (Bosch Rexroth, Parker, Eaton, Hawe, HydroLeduc) which speeds up delivery of original spare parts.
